Sown area of cotton in China in 2013 will fall 6.7% over a year earlier, showing the cotton production continues to shrink and the stability of cotton production is facing new challenges, according to China Cotton Association.
Still insufficient domestic demands and uncertain textile demands increased the risk of the cotton industry. The greatly rising cost to plant cotton in recent years also cracked down the enthusiasm to farmers.
