According to statistics released by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai, Italy's steel imports from the non-EU countries amounted to 2.642 million tons in the first four months of this year, soaring by 40.3% year on year. Among them, the imports of steel flat products totaled 1.353 million tons, jumping by 96.9%; those of steel long products were at 150,000 tons, falling by 4.4%, both compared to those in the same period of a year ago. Meanwhile, the country's steel exports to the non-EU countries totaled 1.653 million tons, decreasing by 11.5% year on year.
