France's Steel Product Export Value up 0.2 Percent

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first five months of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of €4.02 billion, increasing by 0.2 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France exported €935.88 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 3.61 percent, €207.8 million of cold rolled steel strip - down 0.42 percent, €162.29 million of cold drawn wire - up 0.25 percent, €143 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 0.5 percent, €293 million of metal structures and parts - up 28.31 percent, all compared to January-May 2013.

Meanwhile, in the January-May period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled €3.61 billion, down 6.48 percent year on year.

During the given period, France imported €679.95 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 1.5 percent, €271.68 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 7.83 percent, €174.92 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 3.93 percent, €152.79 million of cold drawn wire - down 1.74 percent, and €580.12 million of metal structures and parts - up 7.02 percent, all compared to the same period of the previous year.
