According to data released by the Brazilian steel institute (IABr), Brazil's crude steel output totaled 2.83 million tons in June, rising by 2.7% year on year bur rising by 6% from a month ago. In June, the country's production of finished steel totaled 2.26 million tons, increasing by 6.93% year on year but falling by 1.78% month on month. Meanwhile, the domestic shipment of steel products totaled 1.97 million tons in June, rising by 3.63% year on year. In the first half of this year, Brazil's crude steel output totaled 16.97 million tons, falling by 2.17%; that of finished steel was at 12.93 million tons, up by 0.91%, both compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago. In the given period of time, the domestic shipments of all steel products amounted to 11.32 million tons, up by 2.74% year on year.
