Reportedly, Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in May this year totaled US$2.3 billion, up 2.5% from the previous month and dropped by 5% year on year. Same index in April and March has shown a drop of 23.3% and 9% respectively, both compared to the same month last year, according to Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs. Taiwan's basic metal and baisc metal product export orders in Jan-May period 2013 totaled a value of US$11.3 billion, decreasing by 8.2% from the same period of last year.
