Little is known about the mysterious Nokia 9 smartphone at this point, beyond the odd leak here and there, but now we might have a release date for the rumoured flagship device.
Following an apparent leak earlier this month from an anonymous source who provided Nokia Power User with what seemed to be the phone's spec sheet, that same source has apparently just given away pricing and release information.
The report comes, once again, from Nokia Power User, which makes sure to caveat the claims by making clear the information is far from verified at this point.
According to the mysterious tipster, the Nokia 9 will go on sale for around €749 and around $699, which works out to about £639 and £563 respectively.
The source also claims the phone will hit stores in India priced at Rs 44999, which works out to around £562. Alas, no British pricing was provided.
What's more, the phone will apparently launch at the beginning of Q3 2017, with the source suggesting a late-July/early-August launch for the phone.
The actual release will follow sometime well into Q3 itself, according to the information provided – all of which could be down to the low availability of Snapdragon 835 chips.
As mentioned, earlier this month the same source appeared to reveal the full specs for the Nokia 9, with the big feature said to be the company’s OZO Audio.
Nokia has described the audio tech as “Advanced psychoacoustic technology” that “allows sound to be captured and played back just like it would in real life”.
Other specs provided by the tipster include a 5.5-inch QHD OLED display, 22-megapixel dual Carl-Zeiss rear camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.
Also tipped: a Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU and a 3,800mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick-Charge 4.
Again, none of the information has been verified at this point, so the usual pinch of salt approach applies here, but stay tuned for more in the near future.
