PSI Supplied Lighting,Trussing and Rigging for The 2012 Live at The Marquee Event in Cork

Ireland-Production Services Ireland(PSI)supplied lighting, trussing and rigging for the 2012 Live At The Marquee event in Cork, which ran for a month, offering a diverse line up of international artists-from Justice to Christy Moore,Jedward to Jessie J-and many more to cater for all tastes.

It's one of Cork's largest annual events and the second year that PSI has been the lighting supplier, after delivering such a smooth and successful package last year.It was project managed for them by Ciaran Tallon, with the equipment coming out of the company's Dublin facility.

With the range of artists appearing,an overall production lighting design was created by client Conor Jacob, with the idea that it was as flexible as possible to provide a solid platform for lighting all of the performers and genres of music.

The stage was 20m wide and 11 deep and the trim went from 5.5m upstage to 11.5m downstage following the curvature of the marquee.PSI flew four Litec trusses(one at 16m wide and three at 18m)off the stage structure.

A variety of lighting fixtures were rigged on to these. The moving lights were 18 Robe ColorWash 700E ATs and 12 ColorSpot 700E ATs.

Added to this were 10 Martin Professional Atomic strobes,12 PixelPAR 44s,10 ETC Source Fours with 26 degree lenses for key lighting, nine 4-cell moles,14 loose CP60 PARs which were dotted around and used for back lighting as required, and seven Studio Due CS4 moving Acl bars.

For control, two Road Hog Full Boars were supplied with expansion wing-one of which was run as a'hot'backup.

The lighting picture was completed with two Lycian Mk II 2.5K follow spots, with extra followspots available on request. For the Marquee gigs only, they brought in an additional 18m truss for Justice to fly their screen together with more Atomic strobes.Extras for the Coronas consisted of six Robe Robin 300E Beams, six 2-lite Moles and six 2K MoleBeams, together with six 2m vertical truss sections on which they were all mounted.Imelda May requested six additional Robe ColorSpot 700E ATs.The crew of Mick Murray,Donal'Chief'O'Luanaigh and Neil Brannagan worked closely with Conor Jacob for the run.

Comments Ciaran Tallon:"The crew all did a brilliant job and the whole project went like clockwork for us,primarily down to a really thorough prep in the warehouse beforehand. The biggest challenge was turning around some of the specials packages which were requested late on,but we delivered every time."
