CSC Leaves Its List Prices for EF Al-Killed Wire Rods Unchanged for May

China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan announced to leave its list prices for electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rods unchanged for May. After the announcement, the company's list prices for EF Al-killed wire rods are at NT$22,200/ton. The actual selling prices are at NT$21,200~NT$21,700/ton. In fact, the Taiwanese small screw makers expected CSC to cut prices for May since they've received less order orders in export markets due to fierce price competition against China's offers. It's known that the transaction prices of the steel wire products have dropped in the Chinese market recently. CSC stated that it decided to leave its list prices for EF Al-killed wire rods unchanged for May as the spot iron ore prices have stayed at the level of US$140/ton C&F recently and the scraps prices have stabilized.
