It is learned that Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas sold 1.565 million tons of steel in the third quarter of this year, representing a decrease of 10.5% compared to the same period last year. In the first nine months of this year, the company’s sales of steel totaled at 4.728 million tons, down by 8% year on year. According to Usiminas, the total sales in this period in the domestic market were 92.9%, which was in line with the company’s strategy. The exports in this period fell 22.4% compared to the second quarter. Argentina was the main destination of its sales by 35%, followed by China’s 19%. The crude steel production for the company reached 1.782 million tons, down by 3 % compared to the same period last year and an increase of 2 % on the volume from previous quarter.
