According to statistics released by Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), the country's hot rolled coil (HRC) output totaled 2.68 million tons in September, rising by 10% from a month ago. The rise was boosted by Hyundai Steel's commissioning in an additional 300,000 tons per year capacity of HRC to the hot strip mill in the B section of its Dangjin works in August, bringing the annual capacity to 3.3 million tons. In January-September period, Korea's HRC production amounted to 24.22 million tons, falling by 4% year on year.
