China's Finished Steel Exports up 11.9 Percent Year on Year

In December last year, China exported 5.37 million mt of finished steel, up 10.72 percent year on year and increasing by 370,000 mt compared with the previous month, while in the whole of 2013 China exported 62.34 million mt of finished steel, up 11.9 percent year on year, as announced by China's General Administration of Customs.

In December, China imported 1.21 million mt of finished steel, up 15.87 percent year on year but down 40,000 mt month on month. Meanwhile, during the whole of last year China imported 14.08 million mt of finished steel, up 3.1 percent year on year.

In December, China imported 73.38 million mt of iron ore and concentrates, up 3.4 percent year on year but down 4.46 million mt month on month. China imported 819.41 million mt of iron ore and concentrates in 2013, up 10.2 percent year on year.

In addition, China's coke exports in December amounted to 750,000 mt, up 70,000 mt month on month, while during the whole of 2013 China's coke exports totaled 4.67 million mt, up 358.1 percent year on year.
