Indonesia’s steel import value totaled US$730 million in September, soaring by 43.5% year on year, according to data released by Statistics Indonesia (BPS). In September, the country’s import values generated by articles of iron and steel totaled US$357.5 million, increasing by 4.6% from a month ago. In the first nine months of this year, Indonesia’s steel import values amounted to US$7.5 billion, decreasing by 2.5% year on year. In the given period of time, the country’s import values generated by articles of iron and steel totaled US$3.6 billion, rising by 5.17% year on year.
