The Site Invested in The Prati Vega Booklet-Label Machine

The site, part of the group's Specialist Packaging Division, invested in the Prati Vega booklet-label machine to further strengthen its offer of exacting compliance and, what it calls, quality performance across multiple study profiles.

According to the firm, the increased capacity also enables shorter lead times and greater reliability for its international customer base in the clinical trials sector.

Growing customer base

Clondalkin said that the installation of the Vega machine will provide a range of benefits to Clondalkin's growing customer base. Producing booklets of up to 64 page counts, the equipment features an in-line lamination unit with register control, enabling the application of Braille in register to the outer laminate. In addition, the Vega incorporates a hot melt coating unit and Pharma Code scanning.

To maximise the investment potential, the company also installed two complete finishing lines, fully equipped with inline ink jet coding and full vision inspection, bringing the site's total number of inspection units up to four.

Barry Marron, site director at Clondalkin Pharma & Healthcare Glasnevin, said: "Each booklet-label we manufacture for our clinical trial customers will undergo up to 15 separate checks as part of our uncompromising quality and processes.

"We aim to supplement this with unparalleled levels of customer service. Our site is extensively equipped in all stages of the print and production processes from origination and print through to conversion and delivery, and this investment represents our continued commitment to improve our processes, expand our capabilities and increase our flexibility."
