According to report of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US' steel imports totaled 2.802 million net tons in May, rising by 2% from a month ago. Among them, 2.123 million net tons were finished steel products, up by 1% month on month. In the first five months of this year, the country's imports of steel and finished steel products amounted to 13.236 million net tons and 10.359 million net tons, decreasing by 11% and 9% year on year respectively. It's predicted that the country's totaled imports of steel and steel products would be at 31.8 million net tons and 24.9 million net tons in the whole of 2013, decreasing by 5% and 4% year on year respectively.
