According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first two months of this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 12,615 mt, decreasing by 67.37 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $14.04 million, down 65.24 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,109 metric tons in 2013.
In February this year, Turkey's PPGI exports decreased by 53.26 percent year on year to 7,924 metric tons, but were up 68.96 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $8.49 million, down 52.60 percent year on year and increasing by 52.73 percent month on month.
In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's main PPGI export destinations were Azerbaijan and Romania, with PPGI exports to Azerbaijan down 29.01 percent to 2,496 mt and exports to Romania decreasing by 49.28 percent to 2,117 mt, both on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in February this year Azerbaijan was Turkey's top export destination for PPGI, receiving 1,595 mt.
