Japan's Steel Output Rose by 9.9% Y-O-Y in Q4 and Increasing by 2.7% From a Quarter Ago

According to data released by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (Meti), the country's steel output should reach 28.48 million tons in the fourth quarter of this year, rising by 9.9% year on year and increasing by 2.7% from a quarter ago. Also, the figures would be the highest quarterly performance since the third quarter of 2008, when the Japanese mills produced 30.45 million tons. Meanwhile, the Japanese steelmakers planned to produce 1.13 million tons and 2.47 million tons of H-beams and small bars in the third quarter of this year, soaring by 30% and 8% year on year respectively.
