Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) on June 10 reported consolidated revenues of NT$267.97 billion (US$8.89 billion) for May, slipping 8.99% on month and 10.82% on year, and NT$1.45 trillion for January-May, rising on year by 3.15%.
The company's shipments of PCs, consumer electronics and communications devices significantly decreased sequentially due to seasonality, Foxconn indicated.
Some market watchers pointed out that Foxconn's revenues dropped because its clients will release new products in September and are currently in the middle of a transition.
Foxconn's performance is expected to stay weak in June and is unlikely to rebound until July as the maker is expected to start shipping new products to clients at the end of June or in early July.
Wistron's acquisition of Apple's 4-inch iPhone orders was the main factor that impacted Foxconn's performance, according to market watchers.
