According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the country's import values generated by iron and steel totaled US$13.9 billion in January-September period, falling by 6.7% year on year. In the given period of time, the country's import values of articles of iron and steel totaled US$2.05 billion, soaring by 21.6% year on year. In September alone, Turkey's import values of iron and steel totaled US$1.8 billion, rising by 13.2% year on year and soaring by 37% from the previous month.
