According to Brazil's National Institute of Steel Distributors (INDA), the sales of flat steel in the distribution network reached 401,200 tons in October, which refers to an increase of 8.1% compared to same month in last year. If it compares to the previous month, the increase was 13.4%.
Based on this solid performance, the inventory turnover in the distribution network fell from 2.7 months in September to 2.3 months in October, which is the lowest level since March 2010.
In terms of Inventory volume, it fell to 936,900 tons in October, a fall of 1.3% from September, and 8% from last October. Regarding the steel imports to Brazil, there were 198,200 tons in October, a decrease of 38.8% compared to September and 8% from last October.
INDA predicts the distribution network sales in November will be down by 7% compared to October, but the purchasing will remain steady.
