The impact of the US anti-dumping investigation of Taiwan-based makers who supply solar cells to China-based PV module makers is expected to start showing in May, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
The US Department of Commerce is expected to make preliminary anti-dumping judgment based on the investigation in June.
A typical shipment cycle is about 30 days for US-bound solar modules from China: starting from taking delivery of solar cells from Taiwan-based makers, assembling them into PV modules, to shipping them to the US market. Therefore China-based PV module makers are likely to significantly reduce orders for Taiwan-based solar cell makers beginning May, the sources explained.
