Soutirage announced today that Barry Herbst has joined the company as wine buyer. Herbst will be joining the sourcing team, bringing more than two decades of diverse expertise--including both a sommelier background and extensive retail management experience --to his role at Soutirage.

Herbst was most recently General Manager of the Rare Wine Company, where he spent 11 years cultivating and maintaining close relationships with some of the most sought-after sources in Europe and the United States. Aside from gaining access to the world's most highly allocated wines, Herbst also created efficiencies in sourcing and management, while refining internet marketing, prestige brand-building and customer service. Believing that customer retention through excellent service is among the most crucial qualities of a growing retail business, Herbst has developed a keen aptitude for anticipating customer issues before they occur while streamlining productivity.
