Mims Distributing, which provides domestic, import and craft beer brands to licensed retailers in nine central North Carolina counties, is set to introduce a new beer - Carolina Wet Hop IPA - in collaboration with Carolina Brewing.
Carolina Wet Hop IPA is a single batch beer. It is made using 22lb of Cascade hops sourced from Mims Distributing's hops field and 4lb of Willamette hops from Dragonfly Farm.
It offers earthy and piney aromas, pale, carapils and caramel malts and extra nugget hops for bitterness.
Along with this beer, both companies have developed a separate Cask Ale brewed from the same batch using dried whole cones of Mims Distributing's Cascade hops and Willamette's Dragonfly hops.
It has undergone a secondary fermentation to ensure maximum flavor. Mims will introduce this new ale later this fall in celebration of its partnership with Carolina Brewing.
The new Carolina Wet Hop IPA will soon be available to select local retailers in the US for a limited time.
Mims Distributing sales manager Jeff Mims said that after years of growing their hops, they are proud to debut Carolina Wet Hop IPA with Carolina Brewing Company.
"We are excited to offer this beer that is unique to the Triangle, and to continue to offer our customers the comprehensive beer experience for which we have become known throughout the area," Mims added.
