Geneva--The world's largest flawless vivid blue diamond is expected to sell for as much as $25 million next month, when the 13.22-carat gem hits the auction block at Christie's Magnificent Jewels sale.
Named "The Blue," the diamond is leading the 250-lot auction, scheduled for May 14 at the Four Season Hotel des Bergues in Geneva.
Also to be offered at the sale is a range of colored and colorless diamonds, including the "Ocean Dream," the largest fancy vivid blue-green diamond in the world at 5.50 carats. It is expected to fetch from $7.5 million to $9.5 million.
Meanwhile, a pear-shaped colorless diamond that is 75.97 carats and graded as a D flawless has a pre-sale high estimate of $15.5 million.
Jewels by JAR, Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels also will be included in the sale.
