According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in November this year increased by 24.14 percent on tonnage basis compared to the previous month, amounting to 36 ships compared to 29 ships recorded in October, totaling 1.24 million gross tons, consisting of three product carrier, four cargo ships and 25 bulk carriers. In November 2012, Japan's new ship export orders totaled 23 ships with 901,250 gross tons.
At the end of the first 11 months of the current year, Japanese shipbuilders' order books for export totaled 318 ships, with a total tonnage of 12.68 million gross tons, up 69.76 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in November, Japan delivered 22 ships totaling 1.07 million gross tons for export, decreasing from 23 ships totaling 941,839 gross tons recorded in October this year. In the first 11 months of this year, Japan delivered 275 ships for export, totaling 12.15 million gross tons, decreasing by 15.73 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2012.
