Interbike has added an enduro event to this year's OutDoor Demo.
The Enduro Challenge at Bootleg Canyon, presented by Innovative Timing Systems, is open to all Interbike and OutDoor Demo attendees. It will be held on both Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 16 and 17, with winners to be crowned both days.
The Enduro Challenge will consist of four stages covering both days of the OutDoor Demo. There will be two distinct timed courses. Awards will be presented both days to the top three finishers for both men and women, with three grand prizes awarded on Tuesday afternoon to the combined two day winners. The overall winner is the rider (male and female) who accumulates the lowest combined time from the four timed sections. Participation in the event is free of charge to all attendees. Riders can take practice runs, but only one official time will count toward the prizes.
ITS will use its Jaguar Chip Timing System, with new satellite technology, to track each rider. Jaguar has been used at mountain bike events including Big Mountain Enduro, Oregon Enduro, Crankworx, USA Cycling Cross-Country MTB National Championships and hundreds of other major races around the world.
“Our latest product release was designed specifically for enduros, and we’re excited to showcase it for the participants and attendees of OutDoor Demo’s Enduro Challenge,” said Kurt Hansen, founder and CEO of ITS. “We’ve designed the event to make sure rider participation - from registration to doing multiple runs to instant discovery of rider times - is as simple and easy as possible. We want everybody to get involved and give it a try.”
ITS will place customized plates on all bikes used for the enduro event and riders will just show their badges and have their bikes scanned at the start of each course, marrying the rider to that specific bike. The bike will be scanned again at the finish, clearing the bike of rider information and making it ready for the next demo participant.
