Turkey's Iron and Steel Imports Totaled USD 1.54 Billion, Decreasing by 8.6% YOY

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Turkish Under secretariat of Customs, in November this year Turkey's iron and steel imports totaled USD 1.54 billion, decreasing by 8.6% YoY and down 9.4% compared to October this year. Iron and steel ranked fourth among the most imported products of the country in the given month.

Meanwhile, in November Turkey's imports of articles of iron or steel, which ranked 15th among the products with the highest import value, rose by 36.2% compared to November 2011 and were up 26.3% MoM, amounting to USD 253.3 million.

In the first 11 months of 2012, the country's iron and steel imports stood at USD 18.1 billion, decreasing by three percent compared to the corresponding period of 2011, while its imports of articles of iron or steel amounted to USD 2.1 billion, down by 7.5% YoY.
