Finland-based producer of coated white-top kraftliners Metsa Board has introduced a new fully bleached liner, Modo Northern Light at FachPack 2013 in Germany.
The new lightweight and uncoated Modo Northern Light exhibits includes high whiteness and is suitable for microflute and traditional corrugated packaging.
Available in a low substance range from 80-160 g/m2 and a bright white shade, the liner can be used in microflute applications such as perfume, beautycare and healthcare, and also as packaging for mobile devices.
It can also be used as a top liner, as fluting and as a reverse side liner. It holds low washboarding tendency in corrugating due to its screens, which offer high contrast.
Metsa Board Paperboard linerboard sales vice president Risto Auero said that the new product complements the company's Kemiart range of white top kraftliners by providing better options for its customers.
"Modo Northern Light helps meet demand for lighter-weight packaging and opens up exciting opportunities for combining a lighter liner with fluting in innovative ways," Auero added.
