Japan’s exports of iron and steel products totaled 3.66 million tons in January, jumping by 24.2% year on year while falling by 5.5% from a month ago.
In January, the country’s exports to Korea totaled 641,976 million tons, rising by 4.7%; those to China were at 429,521 tons, falling by 0.3% and those to Taiwan were at 391,511 tons, jumping by 71.7%, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
Meanwhile, Japan imported 631,421 tons of steel in January, falling by 2.6% from a month ago and decreasing by 9.9% year on year.
