Soniq, JB Hi-Fi’s exclusive retail brand, is on the front foot talking up its recent successes. The brand, which also sells directly online, has traditionally kept a low profile, though this is expected to change in 2014 with a series of “big and small” announcements, according to an media release sent today.
Soniq general manager Song Su makes no mention of what these developments may be, though he does say the brand enjoyed record sales for its 32-inch LED TV that it sells for the very attractive RRP $199.
“We witnessed unprecedented demand for our low cost models over Christmas as many Aussies kitted out children’s bedrooms and spare rooms. Most Australian households now have multiple TVs which will at least help prevent arguments around what to watch!”
If these arguments do persist and a TV is broken in the ensuing fight, fear not brave Soniq customers, as Soniq now has a 3-year warranty across its entire TV range.
“As an industry, most manufacturers will offer a 1-year warranty but consumers rightly expect products to last a lot longer than that. Our business is about building quality products at affordable prices, so we’re putting our money where our mouth is and offering an industry beating 3-year warranty.”
Su is exercising some interesting hyperbole there: Hisense has been offering a 3-year in-home replacement warranty on its TVs for quite a few years now.
While this warranty offer may not be totally original, there is no beating Soniq’s new Smart TV app that promotes Victorian tourism.
“As a Melbourne based business we’re really excited about being able to showcase all that Victoria has to offer to the rest of the world. Cinavision is available around the world, so this new channel acts as a shop window for potential tourists who can see the delights that Victoria has to offer.”
