Native American Textile Art Expo Will Be Host by Bolivia

The third Meeting of Original Indigenous Textile Art of Bolivia,which aims to support and revive the dying Indian(Native American)textile traditions,will begin from December 1,2012,in the Bolivian town of Tarabuco and the nation's constitutional capital city of Sucre.

The exhibition will give the visitors an opportunity to closely see and gain knowledge about the abilities of the participating Native American weavers.More than 400 craftsmen and weavers from over 82 communities will exhibit their vivid textile creations at the four-day-long fair,according to the Department of Artistic and Cultural Promotion of the Bolivian Culture Ministry.Small and medium sized companies from towns like Yamparáez,Jhalkas,Kallawayas,Chiquitanos,Ayoreos,Guaraníes,Pacajes and Carangas will display their varied textile crafts,raw materials and tools.

On the sidelines of the professional exchanges between weavers,suppliers,ready-made clothiers and others,there would also be a special display of textile samples from the Museum of Ethnography and Folklore,as well as National Museum of Archaeology.
