In 2012, China’s crude steel output totaled 716.54 million mt, increasing by 3.1 percent year on year, according to data released by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on January 18.Also in 2012, China’s total output of finished steel amounted to 951.86 million mt, up 7.7 percent, while in December alone domestic finished steel output totaled 81.38 million mt, increasing by 13.5 percent, both year on year.
Finally, China’s metallurgical coke production in 2012 rose by 5.2 percent year on year to 443.23 million mt.
