According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in January this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 77.4 percent, falling 1.9 percentage points compared to the previous month and down 1.4 percentage points compared to January 2012.
Meanwhile, in January of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 0.1 percentage points year on year to 70.9 percent, up slightly from 70.5 percent recorded in December.
The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 72.4 percent in January this year, indicating a decrease of 1.2 percentage points compared to December and down from 74.7 percent in January 2012.
