US-based establishment Anchor Brewing has expanded its product range with the introduction of new 2014 Anchor Christmas Ale.
The new spiced ale will be available for a limited period of time starting from early November to mid-January.
Anchor Brewing said that the 2014 Anchor Christmas Ale offers hints of citrus fruit, spices, and subtle piney hop notes.
The company's Christmas Ale is brewed using malted barley, fresh whole hops, and yeast, while its deep, rich color is produced by using a blend of roasted malts.
Anchor Brewing Company brewmaster Mark Carpenter said: "For the past few years we've evolved the recipe to perfect a particular style of dark spiced ale and I believe we succeeded. So this year we went on a different path, exploring new possibilities and making larger changes.
"The flavor has a sarsaparilla-like sweetness with rich caramel maltiness and a pleasantly balanced back-end bitterness.
Christmas Ale is available in 6-packs, on draught in select bars and restaurants including the Anchor Brewing Taproom in San Francisco, and in gold-foiled magnum bottles.
The 2014 Anchor Christmas Ale's packaging features a tree on the label which is the Giant Sequoia.
