DuPont Protection Solutions has unveiled new Tyvek 40L medical packaging to protect lightweight and low-risk devices.
The company is exhibiting the new class of Tyvek for medical packaging applications at this year’s Medtec event in Shanghai, China scheduled between 20 and 22 September.
With its embossed and linen-like appearance, the new lighter weight Tyvek is said to deliver better performance with ethylene oxide (EO) and gamma radiation sterilization.
Tyvek 40L’s other features include clean peel, low particulate generation, puncture and tear resistance during handling and transportation puncture and tear resistance in high humidity and compatibility with major sterilization methods.
According to the company, Tyvek peels cleanly when opening the package, even if the package is uncoated and sealed to a peelable film.
DuPont will immediately start the marketing of new medical packaging solution in China, and preparing for global launch in late 2018.
The company also provides a range of microbial barrier products, including Tyvek 1073B, Tyvek 1059B and Tyvek 2FS.
DuPont’s other medical and pharmaceutical packaging solutions include Bynel coextrudable adhesive resin, Elvax Eva copolymer resin, syringe packaging with Tyvek, protective and clean peel pouches
