Sato Has Launched Two New Printing and Labelling Solutions

Barcode printing and labelling company Sato has launched two new printing and labelling solutions for the food industry to meet the new food traceability law.

The TH2 all in box ready-to-eat pack comprises a TH2 printer and labels to increase the speed of efficiency of users while meeting food preparation and labeling regulations.

The Judo Food handheld labeler is a flexible solution which helps users improve food security.

Europe will implement the new food traceability law from December 2014. As a part of the new rules, it is the manufacturer's responsibility to provide consumers with information regarding the origin of the meat, fruits, vegetables and also the presence of allergens and glutens.

Information like whether an item has been defrosted previously will also need to be provided as per the new rules. A minimal size of print font will be used to make these legible.

According to the company, the TH2 printer is useful in quick-serve restaurants, to print labels for ingredient preparation and final product labels which show ingredients, packaging date, use-by date, price and barcode.

The handheld labeller has also been designed with pre-designed texts like 'cooked on', 'defrosted on', 'storage temperature' and 'best before' to give more flexibility and choice.

These products will be displayed by the company at Rapid and Resto Showt in Paris on 24 - 25 September 2014.
