Yemen long steelmaker Aden Steel intends to move its 350,000 metric tons/year rebar mill to Rabigh, north of Jeddah on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. The company's official pointed out that this is because the weak demand for Yemen local market. Aden Steel will keep its induction furnace-based billet plant in order to continue exports to re-rollers in the Middle East and East Africa. After moving, the rebar will rename as Reada Stee. The company expected that the plant can be resumed in the first quarter of 2014.
