French carmaker Peugeot has launched the 408 sedan in Malaysia, marking its presence in East Asian markets following its Russian launch.
According to the carmaker, the new sedan will be offered in two configurations, which include 408 Turbo and 408 2.0 versions.
The 408 Turbo variant will be powered by a1.6litre THP twin scroll turbo engine, which will generate an output of 163 hp and 240 Nm torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds while having a top speed of about 215 km/h.
Peugeot's 408 2.0 version sedan will be powered by a 2.0litre four-cylinder engine, which will produce 145 hp output at 6,000 rpm and 200Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, and is mated to an eight-speed automatic, while can boost from 0-100km/h in 12,5 seconds.
Both the versions will comprise the safety features including EBA, EBD and ABS, as well as driver, front passenger, side, front and rear curtain airbags, ESP, ASR and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control).
Peugeot said that the 408 Turbo and 408 2.0 will be priced at MYR125,888 ($40,139.5) and MYR109,000 ($34,754.8) respectively.
