Unified Communications (UC) is a valuable tool for businesses, especially to the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as it can enable faster decision-making that may lead to revenue growth and improved time- to-market, according to Avaya.
“MSMEs need sophisticated communications that should be easy to manage and use, and affordable to implement in order to drive efficiency and productivity leading to more informed, faster business decisions that grow revenues and improve time to market,” shares Avaya ASEAN Managing Director, Ray Tekse.
The Department of Trade and Industry’s data shows that the MSME sector in the country account for 99.6% of all enterprises. This multitude, says Avaya Philippines Country Manager, Edgar Doctolero, are those businesses that are struggling to combat their financing and technology problems.
“From a technology standpoint, there is a need to address how MSMEs are operating,” underlines Doctolero.
“Majority of MSMEs do not have their own IT department, IT managers and network managers,” he adds. “They must rely on plug-and-play type of systems.”
Realising this growing need, the company extends its unified communications offering to this segment through its flagship UC solution for MSMEs, the IP Office 8.1.
Avaya shares that this new release of IP Office is a cost-effective solution that meets the collaboration needs of enterprises today.
This plug-and-play hardware allows enterprises to utilise emerging business software tools via browser-based access, desktop-integration, and mobility access.
From a previous offering that is only provided to large enterprises, Avaya puts forward IP Office’s new version to cater to the MSMEs, to help them “address a lot of technology concerns around mobility,” says Doctolero.
Up to 1,000 users can be configured to connect to this UC tool, in which users can utilise the Flare Communicator and Scopia Mobile — Avaya’s software solutions for voice, chat and instantaneous communication — through their own mobile devices.
“With Avaya’s end-to-end MSME business collaboration solutions, we are poised to assist MSMEs become more globally competitive and ultimately increase the immense value these firms are already contributing to the nation,” says Doctolero.
