Von Drehle to Use Valmet's Advantage NTT Technology

US-based towel and tissue manufacturer von Drehle will use Valmet's flexible Advantage NTT technology to produce tissue.

The new line will be installed at the company's facility in Mississippi, and the production will start in late 2015.

The company is currently operating two Advantage DCT tissue machines in Cordova, North Carolina. The Advantage NTT technology is claimed to ensure maximum flexibility and enhance the quality of the product.

It can easily swing between productions of conventional tissue to textured tissue in a matter of few hours.

Valmet claims that the technology has been well received in the market and this will be the fourth NTT machine to go in production.

von Drehle Corporation VP of manufacturing Joe Pankratz noted that Valmet is one of its long time trusted suppliers.

"As we studied different tissue machine technologies, energy efficiency, flexibility, and potential for optimizing use of our recycled fiber furnish were critical. Process and operation review made the Valmet NTT technology the obvious choice for production of tissue and towel products at our Natchez, MS Facility," Pankratz added.

Valmet tissue mills business unit account sales manager Soren Eriksson said: "This will be the first Valmet's Advantage NTT installation in USA and we are all delighted to work with von Drehle in yet another project. We will deliver this project as a showcase in the industry."
