Nvidia is giving away Watch Dogs 2 for free with every purchase of a top-end 10-series graphics card.
If you buy either the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or GTX 1080, you’ll get a free copy of the Watch Dogs 2 video game for PC. It’s in a bid to promote 4K gaming potential of both the 1070 and 1080. And the saving isn’t bad either, considering how Watch Dogs 2 currently retails at between £35 and £45.
“We’re delighted to announce that Watch Dogs 2 is now available for free when you purchase either a GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 GPU for desktop or laptop,” reads an Nvidia press release.
It continues: “Watch Dogs 2 is loaded with Nvidia technology – from HBAO+ for rich, detailed and realistic shadows, and TXAA for smoother, clearer images, to HFTS & PCSS for accurate soft shadows and Nvidia ANSEL for capturing stunning in-game screenshots."
Developed by Ubisoft, Watch Dogs 2 is the second entry in the Watch Dogs franchise, and launched worldwide in November 2016 across PS4, Xbox One, and Windows. We gave the game a 4/5 score, praising its engaging heroes and anarchic humour, strong and entertaining mission design, and the great setting and fun side activities. Here’s our verdict:
“Watch Dogs 2 is no great leap forward, but it sees the series headed in the right direction with more colour, more flair, and a real sense of fun. The action’s solid and the mission design much less generic, while Ubisoft Montreal has given you a great set of tools and the freedom to use them as you will. If the original Watch Dogs was a mean-looking hound, all bark, no bite, the sequel’s a more playful pooch that’s all about having a good time – and it’s all the better for it.”
And the Nvidia graphics cards aren't bad buys either. We gave both the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 respectable 4.5/5 scores, and would highly recommend them for gamers looking to play in 4K resolution.
