The US Rig Count Declined by 13 to 1,743, Compared to a 12-Rig Increase The Previous Week

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending October 11, the US rig count declined by 13 to 1,743, compared to a 12-rig increase the previous week.  The rig count was down by 92 from 1,835 rigs during the same week a year ago.  The oil rig count decreased by five to 1,367 while the gas rig count decreased by nine to 369.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count fell by four in the week ending October 11 to reach 357, following a 29-rig decrease the week before.  As such, the Canadian rig count was down by four from 361 rigs during the same week a year ago.
