Delivery ceremony for the new Volvo FH/FM in the southern market
Since its appearance in the Asia market in May, Volvo Trucks new range has been receiving a great deal of attention. Due to the timing, uptime, and fuel efficiency features, which are very important for logistics industry, the Volvo Trucks new range has been well received in the southern part of China. A total of 50 new Volvo Trucks FM ranges were delivered to 7 logistics companies including Shenzhen Uni-top Logistics, Shenzhen Zelong Logistics, Guangdong Xinbang Logistics, Guangdong Haiyuan Logistics, Haishunde-Oil, Guangdong Jinhai Logistics, Guangfu Logistics and Quanzhou Aideli Logistics.
Eric Labat, President of Volvo Trucks China
Feng Haifeng, the president of Guang Fu Logistics, was the first customer in the southern region of China to buy the new range. He pointed out that, as a result of the pressure from the macro-economic environment, there are severe challenges in the southern logistics industry, creating greater pressure on attendance rate and fuel costs. Focusing on efficiency and safety, Mr. Feng has owned 35 Volvo trucks. "For Guangzhou-Beijing lines, drop-and-pull transportation enables products to be arrived within 28 hours. I attach great importance to trucks' uptime and aftersales services. I have used Volvo Trucks for nearly five years and am very satisfied with their quality, service networks, accessories and driver trainings. Besides, Volvo trucks dynamic steering system further upgrades the safety of product. I am the kind of person taking risks and trying new things. I was as well the first in the south to purchase the Euro IV trucks. After using them for such a long time, I felt Volvo Trucks were very suitable for our company and I decided to make further purchases."
Volvo Trucks is well perceived among logistics companies with its outstanding quality, service system, and tremendous value-added services. New Volvo Trucks range prefers providing customers with superior transportation solutions by helping them with six major business challenges: uptime, productivity, fuel efficiency, safety, security and driver appeal. Currently Volvo Trucks occupies 47% of the market segment, whereas the new range has been well-received thus far, demonstrating long-term support from the logistics market for Volvo's excellent performance.
Intense competition at the Fuelwatch South China Semi-Final
When 2014 Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition Semi-Final comes to its last stop, Guangzhou, it attracts a number of regional experts. Liu Jinqiang, 2012 Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition Asia Champion is from Guangzhou, and Jiang Jianwen from Ji'an Logistics who had an outstanding performance and eventually won the champion of South region.
Jiang Jianwen said excitedly that this was his first time to participate in the Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition, as well as to drive the new FH. When he found out that the truck he drove in the competition was the 'International Truck of the Year 2014' in Europe, he became even more excited. "I'm driving Volvo Trucks at work. I like its comfort, safety and ergonomic design. You can feel the ergonomic design in many details such as the seat distance, rear mirrors, etc., which make the driving safer and comfortable." Jiang has over 17 years of driving experience and he once drove domestic truck brands. When comparing imported and domestic trucks, he believes, "In terms of security, there is really a big distinction. The imported truck's safety standards are much higher than the domestic ones. As for the fuel efficiency and environmental protection, imported trucks also have outstanding performance."
Following the Guangzhou competition, the 2014 Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Competition Semi-Final round has successfully concluded. Next, Jiang Jianwen will participate in the China final in August along with the second and third place contestants, Meng Kui from Dayu Logistics and Chen Leting from Deppon Express.
