Crown Beverage Packaging North America Plans to Roll out Its New Vented End Beverage Cans

Crown Beverage Packaging North America is all set to roll out its new vented end beverage cans for Coors Light and Molson Canadian, Canada's beer brands of Molson Coors.

The vented end features a dual aperture opening with two holes. The design of the end has a red tab and a button-shape depression mark to the right of the main opening.

Consumers can use the can by opening it as usual and then turning on the red tab so that it is aligned over the button. It can then be pressed down to activate the second opening.

Crown Beverage Packaging North America vice president marketing and strategic development Neill Mitchell said the additional opening, with its corresponding smoother pour is easy.

"At Crown, we know that brands increasingly see the value of leveraging packaging to distinguish products, attract consumers and drive sales, and we've designed this new technology to satisfy those needs," Mitchell added.

The cans can be used alongside the company's other existing technologies, such as promotional tabs, as well as can shaping, finishing and printing.

According to Crown, both the beer brands will be sold in 473ml cans. Cans of 355ml featuring the vented end inside 15-packs, will be available in various Canadian provinces.
