Highland Brewing Has Announced Plans to Expand Its Production Facility

US-based Highland Brewing has announced plans to expand its production facility, in a move to increase its production capacity by 60,000 barrels annually.

As part of the expansion, the company will invest around $5m in new tanks and a bottling line and will add 30,000ft2 of additional space in the brewery.

The move comes in response to the increasing consumer demand for Highland's beers like Gaelic Ale. Notably, Black Mocha Stout.

The company also plans to expand distribution over the future.

Highland Brewing founder Oscar Wong was quoted by Brewbound as saying: "We just added [Kentucky and Ohio], so this will help us take care of those two states.

"In a way it's kind of enhancing what we have."

Highland anticipates to sell 40,000 barrels of beer this year, 15% up from 2013 figures.
