German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the E Class facelift models prior to their debut at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show to be held in January 2013 in the US.
The new E-class line-up is offered with powertrain options including four petrol engines: 2.0L four-cylinder petrol engine with spray-guided direct injection, 3.0L V6, 3.5L V6 and a 4.7L V8 engine, which are mated to 7G-DCT auto transmission.
The diesel line up of E-Class includes a four-cylinder 2.2L and a 3.0L V6 engines that are paired to a 7G-DCT auto gearbox.
E-Class facelift also includes an E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID variant which is powered by a four-cylinder 2.2L diesel along with an electric motor, which collectively generates an output of231hpand 750Nm of torque.
Aimed at producing CO2 emissions of 107g/km, the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID consumes 4.1 l/100km.
The carmaker has also added a new six-cylinder engine, which will be offered as the E 400 with biturbo drive, and is claimed to set new standards in the six-cylinder sector while complying with the EU6 emissions level.
Safety features of the upgraded line-up include distronic plus, break assist system plus, PRE SAFE pedestrian safety braking and adaptive high-beam assist plus.
