US carmaker Ford Motor has reported 11.7% rise in its sales in the UK to 30,300 vehicles, while its sales in Russia increased 11.1%, over the same period in 2011.
The company's market share in May in 19 Western European markets declined 0.2% to 8.1% during May to 102,100 vehicles, while its market share decreased 0.1% to 8.2% during the initial five months of 2012, over the same period a year ago.
Ford of Europe Marketing, Sales and Service vice president Roelant de Waard said, "May sales confirm that the market remains weak in Europe and that this will be a challenging period for the industry for some time to come."
The company has sold 130,000 vehicles in its total 51 European markets during May, reporting 9.3% decline over same period in 2011, while during the initial five months of 2011, Ford reported 7.6% decline to 630,500 vehicles.
