Germany-based folder cartons and blister maker Leupold has installed the first HP Indigo WS6600 digital label press for folding cartons. According to the firm, the investment in HP Indigo machine is a strategic move as its future lies in digital print.
The system has been designed to provide high-level efficiency and flexibility in label and package printing. The machine offers short and middle runs along with long-run offset printing jobs enabling Leupold to produce a range of products effectively.
Leupold director Bernd Aßmann said only one person is required to run the machine, which can produce a range of packaging items that covers high-end confectionery to toothbrushes.
"With this new solution, we can now increase our flexibility even more and we are able to deliver cartons on demand within only 48 hours and with no additional set-up costs," added Aßmann.
