Alchevsk to Increase Its Crude Steel Production by 10-11 Percent

Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has announced that in April this year its plans to increase its crude steel production by 10-11 percent compared to March to 405,000-407,000 mt and to raise its production of steel products by 10-12 percent month on month to around 370,000-375,000 mt, including 205,000-208,000 mt of slabs and around 120,000 mt of flat steel products.

In January-March this year, Alchevsk produced 1.1 million mt of crude steel, up 16 percent compared to the same period of 2012, and one million mt of steel products, up 18 percent year on year.
