The Food Standards Agency(FSA)in Wales will be conducting three stakeholder meetings across Wales to present an overview of the requirements of the EU Food Information Regulation(FIR).
The FIR brings in new labelling rules,including origin labelling of meat and mandatory nutrition labelling.It is designed to make food labelling easier to understand for consumers.
FSA noted that these meetings prepare for the formal launch of a public consultation on draft domestic Regulations and will be held at the following locations:Food Industry Centre Wales,Cardiff Metropolitan University,Llandaff campus,Cardiff on 8 November;Food Industry Centre Wales,Horeb,Llandysul,Ceredigion on 20 November;and Ramada Plaza Hotel,Wrexham on 28 November.
The meetings held in Cardiff and Llandysul are joint meetings hosted by Cardiff Metropolitan University.
