The Boundary Oak Distillery has become operational in Hardin County, in the US state of Kentucky, following a federal permit to start distilling.
The new distillery is said to be the first Bourbon distillery in the region over the past 100 years.
The first barrel of Boundary Oak Bourbon will be available in two years, while the rest of them will be aged for a minimum of four years, The Spirits Business reported.
Boundary Oak Distillery, which is owned by Brent Goodwin, is anticipated to be listed on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Since 2012, the number of distilleries in Kentucky has tripled. Currently, the state has 31 licensed distilleries which are capable of catering to the increasing demand for American whiskey.
Earlier in September, Brown-Forman announced plans to invest $30m to double production of its Old Forester Bourbon brand and Diageo broke ground on its new $115m Bourbon distillery in the state.
